I45 – Multiplay i-series

Thursday 3rd (early bird)
Friday 4th – Monday 7th May

EARLY BIRD: £15.00 - 5/6pm on Thursday
PRICE: £73.60 – INCLUDES CAMPING AND TOURNAMENT ENTRY

It’s been a year or so since we’ve attended our last official LAN, and a lot has changed in that time, toads got a xbox, franks got a bowl cut and I got crowned the most handsome man in Shobdon, after growing a fine mustachio.

So I think it’s time we took our new re-branded team to the next i-series event, really to show we’re still here… and still shit. Tournament wise, I was thinking probably BF3 or CS:GO, although it would be nice to sneak into the FIFA12 competition at the same time (especially now toads the destroyer of men & stuffed animals).

Usually this event is held over the April bank holidays, but now it seems they’ve moved it to the May collection. Myself and inter are pretty much defiantly going, therefore could do with some provisional answers from the rest of you. Obviously transport shouldn’t be an issue since most of us are now fully fledged road warriors, apart from frank, who’s driven for one day... and crashed. As customary, we’ll be opting for the early bird access (cause we’re ‘ard), this means you’ll have to book the Thursday off if you’re not on the dole.

The big change! Yup, unlike any of the other i-series events we’ve attended, the venue location has now moved to Telford, Shropshire. Granted, this does mean skipping the “epic 150mph” road trip, but it should make getting there a whole lot easier, plus save some dollar on fuelage. Additional advantages also include a larger venue (upto 3000), cheap accommodation and a better layout.

We’ll undoubtedly be buying some new team hoodies/t-shirts before the event, which will probably cost in the region of £15 each.

Ticket Discount Scheme
The i-series discount scheme was introduced to allow us to reward our loyal regular attendees for their support by giving them discounts on future events. The scheme has two levels of membership, Silver and Gold. These discounts do not stack with our early payment discounts, as we feel those rewards are already very generous. We do however give something extra for those of you with Gold loyalty status who book during our early payment periods!

Silver Discount Status
Gained by attended 4 insomnia events as a Bring Your Own Computer participant.
Entitles you to 10% off full price tickets for future events.

Gold Discount Status
Gained by attending 8 insomnia events as a Bring Your Own Computer participant.
Entitles you to a massive 20% off of the full price tickets, all year long OR free Early Arrival Service if you purchase during our early payment discount periods.

To confirm, I'm assuming Mac wont be able to play for us if hes taking part in the fifa12 tourny?

Which I think he should tbh as he stands a good chance of winning something, plus promoting the clan.

Re: I45 – Multiplay i-series
Announcement

Team Sabre will "not" be participating in the BF3 Tournament at this event, however will be now be entering the COD4 tournament.

Why?

Activity - The fact is BF3 has poor competitive activity, even for pcw's. We are lucky to find one decent war a night. COD4 is still one of the most active competitive games on the net, this will enable us to pcw & official war a lot more. This also enables us to judge our skill level before LAN with a Clanbase rank.

Numbers - We simply don't get enough members on (at the same time) to play 7on7s or 8on8s regularly.

Game - BF3 is "currently" a public orientated game, which is fine as we enjoy that aspect. However, it lacks any sort of tournament mod with no clear rule-sets, hence we end-up with a anything goes tournament.

Fun - After some long conversations, we simply think it will be more fun to compete in the COD4 tournament regardless of our skill level. We'll still enjoy BF3 from a LAN-PCW and 64man LAN server perspective imo.

What does this mean?

+ A Team Sabre BF3 team will only attend if someone else runs it and recruits members. I'm keen on this idea if someone wants to take charge.

+ We will only require a 5 man COD4 "LAN" team (online is different).

+ Mac & Frank will participate in the FIFA12 tournament for Team Sabre. Dependant on scheduling I might also enter this tournament.

+ Anyone who isnt playing in a squad is still welcome to sit by us and enjoy some public carnage

Targets?

+ FIFA12 - Finish the tournament in a top3 position.
+ COD4 - Manage to reach the winners bracket.

Toad has informed me we now also have a COD4 server.

3 months training from now :)
